Guidelines:
Read the case study carefully as well as the Rubric so that you know what you will be graded on. Don’t lose points because you didn’t include something in the Rubric.
NOTE: for the file label use what is shown. The ‘title’ is ‘XYZ Tech’, not some arbitrary title you have decided to use.
Please read the APA summary sheet so that you do not lose points for formatting properly
— The format for your paper will be in APA format. This means you will have a title page, abstract, your text, conclusion, and reference page. Read up on this in the APA document provided, or just Google it for margins, font, spacing, etc. Don’t miss the easy points by not following the APA formatting.
For the case study, you will address the four items in the case study document as well as cover what the rubric asks for. Don’t miss the easy points by not following the APA formatting or labeling your submitted document incorrectly. (10 point penalty for not using the correct label)
You are to approach this case study as a hired ‘consultant to identify and manage the projects and the team needed to redesign their workspace to allow more flexibility for employees’.
First item: Note that all projects have the five process groups, but not all projects use all ten of the knowledge areas. Many students answer this question by describing everything, but as the project manager this question is asking how you will use the process groups and knowledge areas to develop the team for this project. What knowledge areas will be needed for this project? Note that the rubric asks to discuss appreciative inquiry. Many students miss this.
Second item: Identifying strategic objectives is discussed in chapter one. The rubric asks for a project charter. You are to provide an actual charter and not just discuss it or describe it.
Third item: Your scoring model is needed as there are a number of projects that will need to be tackled in the overall goal of redesigning the workspace. For example, which ones are the most important to do first; (not in order) furniture needed (table, chairs, how many, where positioned), construction needed, outlets, charging stations, need individual stations and collaboration spaces, decor, color, etc. You will need to discuss what criteria are necessary to develop the scoring model
Fourth item: Describe the milestone schedule process and produce a sample milestone schedule for this project.
Some students in the past have followed the four items, but then did not read what was required in the rubric so lost many points by not including the models.
