Retirement Model due in one day

1. Input each of the following set of assumptions into the model on the “Retirement Calculation Blank” tab in the fields highlighted in yellow.
The specific assumptions sets are:
1 = $50,000 income, 8% rate of return, 4% withdrawal rate
2 = $50,000 income, 10% rate of return, 4% withdrawal rate
3 = $80,000 income, 6% rate of return, 5% withdrawal rate
4 = $80,000 income, 8% rate of return, 5% withdrawal rate
After inputting your assumptions for each assumption set, put the results from the “Retirement Fund at Age 70″ and the
“Retirement Fund at Age 100″ fields on the “Recap” tab in the appropriate yellow-highlighted field. (1 point)
3. When you have input all your results on the “Recap” tab, write down your observations and conclusions about the impact of each of the three
assumptions (income, rate of return and withdrawal rate) in the box provided on the “Recap” tab. Your response must be at least 250 words to receive
full credit. Some examples of areas you can use to focus your response include:
 How each input impacts the amount you have for retirement (both at the beginning and at the end).
 Which inputs have more of an impact on your retirement savings (both at the beginning and at the end).
 If the 4% withdrawal rule that we discussed in class is a reliable rule of thumb when evaluating how much to withdraw in retirement.
 Whether any of the three inputs are under your control or not and, if so, to what extent. (4 points)
Here is the rubric for the HOW Retirement exercise grading:
1. For each retirement amount incorrectly calculated or left blank, .1 points will be deducted to a maximum of .5 points. If all responses are left blank, you will
receive a “0” for the exercise because, even if you fill out the observations and conclusions, you will not have a basis for your response.
2. Observations and conclusions that are at least 250 words and are reasonable and thoughtful will receive full credit. If observations and conclusions are
not provided, you will receive “0” for this part of the assignment. Observations and conclusions between 0 and 250 words will have points deducted at our
discretion based on the length and quality of the response.
