Writing Question

Once you have selected the emphasis for your paper, developed your comparative question, and decided on the countries to compare, your task is to find out more about those countries in general and in relation to your SDG4 area of interest in particular.

• State the area of interest you are exploring, your comparative question(s), and the countries you will compare.
• Explore information on those countries in OECD, World Bank, IDB websites, among others. Important areas to explore and include in this assignment are:
  • the socio-economic and political contexts of the countries selected,
  • whether there have been recent reforms or changes in the countries’ education system,
  • the status of the SDG goal you have selected in these countries.
• Also, explore what recent research has been done in those areas so far. You can find research articles or reports using the ASU Library system. To do so go to the menu on the left and click on ‘Resources’ where you will find the ASU Library link to the vast resources that ASU offers.
• To facilitate your search click on this link (Links to an external site.) for a short presentation on how to use ‘One Search’ at the ASU Library. An easy way to find relevant research articles is to look in ‘Google Scholar.’ Here is a helpful link (Links to an external site.) to a video to help you with identifying keywords.
• Note: Include the references to the research reports you are finding in this paper.

You will use that information as you engage in comparative analysis in the next assignment 4 in Module 5.
